     Exactly as it sounds; this committee strives to improve the way we (The good folks in our local communities and possibly yours) have been eating as well as treating our bodies and minds. Recognizing the need for better options in these specific areas, we decided to reach out directly to a few friendly resources and are proud to be able to share them with our community as well as you and yours. If you live, work, visit or otherwise frequent the Philadelphia area then you are already within arms reach of one of our working partners, sponsors, clients or active members, what we like to call our  “range of change.., our scope of hope”.

     Healthy eating is important to any society, with this in mind our H.E.A.T. committee wants to rid our communities of the ridiculously overpriced and under qualified poisonedgarbage (for lack of a better term) being solicited to our families, friends, and neighbors in our community and if necessary the stores that promote and sell them as well. To achieve this, we must first implement the alternative so we hopped clear over the misleading G.M.O./ hormone hurdles, skipped past the Hipster infested Supermarkets and their super-inflated “sales” and jumped over the falsely labeled “natural” and sometimes questionable “organic” item lines. So where did we land..?

Philabundance (“Created in 1984 with the simple belief that no man, woman or child should go hungry and seek to drive hunger from communities today and end hunger forever.”)

     Grocers Against Hunger is Philabundance’s strategic initiative to unite grocers throughout the Delaware Valley in the fight against hunger. This program follows all necessary food safety guidelines, transports product via our fleet of refrigerated trucks and inspects donated product at pick-up and distribution points. The combined efforts of retailers, their own direct services and network of emergency food locations is evident in Grocers Against Hunger’s ability to collectively donate over 8.0 million pounds of food and counting!

We are currently building New* relationships with current as well as up and coming professionals to increase our list as well as our network.

Home grOWN (Yup!, we’re currently working with our “OWNED H.E.R.O.s” to put together our OWN agricultural society where volunteers and others with little to no experience will be able to work alongside professionals to learn various methods of growing and maintaining their own gardens and food items.)

     Whether it’s an outdoor event, private party, social gathering, or basic Tuesday night dining situation you’re trying to create, we have access to cooks and chefs, event planners, designers, decorators and caterers from various cultural backgrounds and experiences who can help you stress less while enjoying the Fruits of your labor”.

OWNED H.E.A.T. committee: staff, members and partners currently services and saves at least 100 people in our community at least $100 in produce fees a week by handling the hard part; locating and building relationships with powerhouses in our city who can allow us the ability to bring better options directly to them and we want to help you do the same in yours.


ACTIVITY & TRAINING 

Let’s get down to fitness!

    Training our minds and bodies to perform at their Peak abilities is extremely important however often overlooked in struggling communities. It’s disappointing that someone would be too busy to find time to be fit but we understand, so let’s “apply a fix”. If you can’t come to us we will come to you. Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, increase strength and stamina or simply become more active in your daily life: our H.E.A.T. committee can start you off on the right track, today.

    We are comprised of Life Coaches, Nutritionist, Fitness Experts, and Personal Trainers here to provide you with the proper conversation on how to find the necessary time to get started with as little as 10 minutes a day. Volunteers and others willing to learn and/or even teach can also work alongside our professionals for extended knowledge and experience.

Here’s a look at a few of our professionals;

  • Omarr/ You Power Fitness (Helping clients reach their goals through personal custom fitness training with over 10 years of experience in helping people become their best fit self through knowledgeable fitness coaching.                         
  • Andrew/ FITKING2go  (Currently serving the Philadelphia area with door to door along with in-studio and outdoor workout sessions and consultations along with proper meal planning and dieting ideas to implement when becoming more active daily.
